Scientology Sucks

Other physician bloggers have been blogging about Scientology's/Cruise's attack on psychiatry. These Bloggers have been putting asterixes in the word Scientology to avoid detection by search engines. I have nothing new to say about Scientology, but I could use more readers so I left the asterixes out.

You really are a rebel, aren't you!

Huh. I should have realized that, but instead I assumed the asterisks were to note the lie implicit in the root of the "Scientology" (I'd say "to remove the science from scientology," but I'm pretty sure the group already did that themselves).

Hi Rd,
I posted this comment at several blogs during the flurry following Cruises out landish behavior and statements

DIRECT FROM “TOMMY’S MOUTH ************************
“Cruise: I’ve never agreed with psychiatry, ever. Before I was a Scientologist I never agreed with psychiatry. And when I started studying the history of psychiatry, I understood more and more why I didn’t believe in psychology.

And as far as the Brooke Shields thing, look, you got to understand, I really care about Brooke Shields. I think, here’s a wonderful and talented woman. And I want to see her do well. And I know that psychiatry is a pseudo science.

Lauer: But Tom, if she said that this particular thing helped her feel better, whether it was the antidepressants or going to a counselor or psychiatrist, isn’t that enough?

Cruise: Matt, you have to understand this. Here we are today, where I talk out against drugs and psychiatric abuses of electric shocking people, okay, against their will, of drugging children with them not knowing the effects of these drugs. Do you know what Aderol is? Do you know Ritalin? Do you know now that Ritalin is a street drug? Do you understand that?

Lauer: The difference is —

Cruise: No, no, Matt.

Lauer: This wasn’t against her will, though.

Cruise: Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt —

Lauer: But this wasn’t against her will.

Cruise: Matt, I’m asking you a question.

Lauer: I understand there’s abuse of all of these things.

Cruise: No, you see. Here’s the problem. You don’t know the history of psychiatry. I do.

Lauer: Aren’t there examples, and might not Brooke Shields be an example, of someone who benefited from one of those drugs?

Cruise: All it does is mask the problem, Matt. And if you understand the history of it, it masks the problem. That’s what it does. That’s all it does. You’re not getting to the reason why. There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance.

Lauer: So, postpartum depression to you is kind of a little psychological gobbledygook —

Cruise: No. I did not say that.

Lauer: I’m just asking what you, what would you call it?

Cruise: No. No. Abso— Matt, now you’re talking about two different things.

Lauer: But that’s what she went on the antidepressant for.

Cruise: But what happens, the antidepressant, all it does is mask the problem. There’s ways, [with] vitamins and through exercise and various things… I’m not saying that that isn’t real. That’s not what I’m saying. That’s an alteration of what I’m saying. I’m saying that drugs aren’t the answer, these drugs are very dangerous. They’re mind-altering, antipsychotic drugs. And there are ways of doing it without that so that we don’t end up in a brave new world. The thing that I’m saying about Brooke is that there’s misinformation, okay. And she doesn’t understand the history of psychiatry. She doesn’t understand in the same way that you don’t understand it, Matt.

Everyone, please boycott Tom Cruise and do not watch any of his new movies, expecially Mission Impossible 3. Tom Cruise caused episodes of South Park to be yanked, now we should all boycott him to hurt Paramount Studios who is owned by Viacom,.....who own's comedy central.....and allowed Tom Cruise to yank new episodes of South Park that satired Scientology. One person should not have this much control.

i was at one time a tom cruise fan
but now that this scientology BS has errupted i will make it my new goal in life to destroy his image and career, America is the best place in the world to live, but we do have plenty of drama without this physco man trying to push his religion with such brute! I am dedicating 1.5 million dollars of my own heart earned money to stopping tom cruise and any production company that associates
with this lunatic. This amount is
small but I am certain that it will make an impact of some kind!

I need 1.5 million to do a movie... lets do a hate filled movie about how a religion is created and marketed becoming a huge billion dollar industry.

Fuck scientology.

"electric shocking people"
Electroconvulsive therapy, or ECT, has been long deemed unethical by Psychiatrists and other therapists. The only way it can be used is if a patient VOLUNTARILY decides to do it. I'm only 16 and only took one course of AP Psychology, but I know more than this "actor"

Damn, I've been poppin' lots of street-dirty Ritalin, and all of a sudden I have the urge to murder Tom Cruise horribly...cool!

Scientology actually works but the tards' who took over after Hubbard's death have fucked it over big time. The Freezone where ex-Scientologist meet will give you the lowdown on what is really happening with the tech in it's unadultered form. RTC (Religous Technologies Center) has fucked up the tech so bad that very few (possibly celebrities)are actually receiving the tech as Hubbard intended.
