My Grandfather is my Father

Medpundit writes "Two Mothers/Two Aunts: If a woman conceives a baby thanks to her sister's ovary, is she the baby's mother or aunt? (Not to mention the question of the sister.) If this becomes popular, as the surgeon hopes it will, we'll need a new word for the mother/aunt combo. (Maunt?)"
If you have no difficulties conceptualizing this complicated family relationship, then you have what it takes to be a psychiatrist. Recently when I asked a new patient why she was coming to see me, she told me "My Grandfather is my Father" (The mother of the patient was sexually abused by her (the mother's) father). Psychiatrists are used to hearing complicated stories about incest and about step and half siblings molesting each other, as well as sexual abuse by step-parents and boyfriends. Sadly, it doesn't take me long anymore to understand how everyone is related.

We're doing a psych rotation at the moment, and the dark secrets we hear about peoples' backgrounds and pasts continues to throw me. It comes as a surprise, after a point, that they have managed to be as intact as they are.

It is a terrible thing.

I have been in a long term relationship, my partner cant produce a baby with me due to him having cystic fibrosis, so we were looking at sperm donations, then i became seminated, little did i know my biological father donated sperm, once i found this out we both got a pertarnaty test done as we both unknowingly used the same sperm bank, to our shock it came back positive, what do i do? and what are the risk to my baby?

@ Anonymous - Since my grandfather is father - I can tell you - The physical problems I have are ADHD. To be honest it all depends are parenting. My grandfather was abusive - if the child is in a loving home with parents even just 1 - the child must be showed his worth something in life. I found out at a very young age who my father was - that affected me childhood and teenage years.
